In this tour you will have the opportunity to travel through the plateaus of the Freita and Arada mountains, an integral part of the Arouca Geopark territory. This itinerary invites you to discover some of the most emblematic geosites of the Magic Mountains, as well as some of its most breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, you will find ancient schist villages, typical constructions of shepherds, historic mines, megalithic monuments and unique species of fauna and flora. This is the perfect setting for those who like to enjoy the most beautiful things nature offers us: Breathtaking landscapes, rivers, historic villages, waterfalls, monuments, gastronomy and much more is what you will be able to discover on this unique tour. Description: Start with picking you up from your hotel, your guide will be waiting for you to take you on a fantastic tour through the Magic Mountains. Starts with the biggest waterfall in Europe outside the Alps and Scandinavia, the “Frecha da Mizarela”, after visit the Casa das Pedras Parideiras (rare geological phenomenon). Than, S. Pedro Sul, to the village of Pena, passing through places and villages of rare beauty, history and tradition. Lunch in typical restaurant in the village of Pena, continue through the plateau of the Serra da Arada towards Arouca through roads that tearing through the mountains take us from village to village and to understand why the word “Magical”. It ends climbing to the viewpoint of S. Pedro Velho, from where it will be possible to see the Ria de Aveiro. Return to your starting point, when finish we take you back to your accommodation.
